Job Context
- A new role has been created for a Finance Manager to join this rapidly expanding fashion company. Pentex Ltd is a main supplier of private label apparel to high streets across Europe, North America and the UAE. The company`s HO is in London, with a subsidiary branch in Dhaka, this is where the position is based.
- The Dhaka office has developed and grown over the years
- You will be working closely with the Country Manager in Bangladesh. The role reports to the Finance Director in London.
Job Responsibilities
- Reporting: Monthly Management Accounts
- Profit and Loss for the Office and Sample Production site
- Balance Sheet
- Expense reports
- Analyse variance to budget
- Finance compliance and control, duties include:
- Liaising with tax office
- Monitor petty cash, reconcile, collate receipts
- Arranging payment of local invoices
- Bank reconciliations
- Filing of annual returns/ compliance
- Reviewing/ checking expenses
- Liaising with our tax advisers - KPMG
- Cash Flow forecast/ projections
- Project: Set up new Finance package
- Explore finance systems available with London and KPMG Dhaka
- Agree chart of accounts
- Transfer balances to system
- Prepare reports from system
- Letters of Credit Management and Reconciliations
- Pentex's agent (Red Box HK) sells fabric to Pentex's Bangladesh factories. The factories pay Red Box HK for the fabric through a Letter of Credit. The Bangladesh factories charge the fabric to Pentex, together with garment manufacture.
- Several of the duties involved in this process will move from London to Bangladesh. These will include:
- Assist with chasing outstanding funds
- Assisting Pentex UK with the Letter of Credit reconciliations. Helping to resolve differences. Liaising with personnel at factory
- As you become more familiar with the processes, we will move more responsibilities over to you from London. As the work load increases, you will later employ an assistant.

Additional Requirements
- Qualified Accountant.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Good communicator.
- Reconciliations experience.
- Management Account experience.
- Strong spreadsheet skills.
- Auditing experience would be an advantage.
